I was 2nd row for Moxley vs Omega at Full Gear and I can honestly say that it shook me. It has been the most talked about match this week and has proven to be incredibly divisive. Some argue that it is pushing the industry back several steps while others are claiming that it is the best Hardcore match ever put on by a major promotion. They used everything they could and by the end of it I was speechless.
But now that we have seen that chaotic ballet play out, how has AEW been affected by it?

Not Again….for a while
The company has had its share of hardcore street fights and lights out matches in the time since its inception, but this was by far the craziest. The general line going around right now is that this match was a special occasion because Moxley really wanted to do it. Matches like this are going to be very uncommon and rarely go to this level. I think this is smart because we don’t want senseless escalation, these moments should feel special.
If Kenny and Mox have a rematch, logic dictates it would have to be a clean match for Moxley to really be able to say he beat Kenny, but I think Kenny would win.

Joey Janela deserves a push
This man has been the hero of the hardcore division of AEW. His matches against Kenny and Moxley were met with great praise and his mic work is only getting better. Having stood next to the man, he is a little shorter than you’d expect but you can tell that he is crazy enough to do anything for the win. He hasn’t had many wins in AEW, but I think he is about to be rewarded for his willingness to do the job.
Havoc is a mess
I don’t know what happened with Havoc and Excaliber this weekend at Jimmy’s Seafood, but all reports indicate that Havoc is to blame in this situation for drunkenly attacking a coworker. I don’t think he’s really pushable at this moment and ultimately I think he will need to start a faction or team to remain relevant with how stacked AEW’s roster is.
Push Darby to the Moon
I am a huge Mark for Darby Allin. He has put on great performances and really captured the hearts of the AEW fanbase. He tied against Cody and only lost to Jericho after some shenanigans and after being handcuffed. He is young and hungry and I can’t wait to see what happens with him. I would LOVE to see his wife Priscilla Kelly join him regularly in AEW because they are relationship goals.
